01 or E17 – Water level error
We would suggest you check to see the water supply to your washing machine is turned on. Also, if you can, check to see the hoses at the back of your machine are not blocked or kinked.
02 or F02 – Heater error
There is a fault with the heating element in your washing machine which may be preventing it from heating up.
06 and 07 – NTC sensor error
Check the connections and test the NTC if you know how to. If you don’t, please seek the assistance of a qualified service engineer.
08, 16, 34 – Door lock error
The washing machine has not registered that the door has has closed properly. Check to see if it clicks shut. If not, check if the catch or the latch have been damaged.
F03 and F18 – Drain error
The machine is not able to drain water properly. This could be caused by a blockage or a failure of the pump.
04, 05, 21, 42, 43, 44 – Motor error
This can be caused by a number of different things. Depending on your level of knowledge of washing machines, we would recommend checking the carbon brushes to see if they’ve worn down. Other causes include faulty tacho connections and PCB modules.
09 and F09 – Heating in the machine
This is when the heating element turns on when it should not, for example during the rinse cycle.
10 and F10 – Communication error
If you can, check the connection between the motor and the module. If you’re not sure how to do this, seek the assistance of a qualified washing machine engineer.
How to reset an error code on a washing machine by Bosch, Neff, or Siemens
- Turn the dial to the off or reset position (should be at the 12 o’clock position)
- Turn the dial to the 6 o’clock position
- Press and hold down on the spin button and simultaneously turn the dial to the 7 o’clock position. Hold the spin button for around 5 seconds and then release. Turn the dial to the off position.
When you next turn your Bosch, Neff, or Siemens washing machine on, the errors or faults should have reset.
